Prospects want Staffbase to fit into their system landscape, their processes, and their way of working, and that is where deals are won or lost. As a Solutions Architect, you are the technical authority behind these deals in Europe. You understand the customer’s processes and the value they want to achieve, validate what is feasible, design the architecture, and prove it with a working showcase. Then you hand it over to our Build team so it becomes a production solution. You'll work closely with Solutions Engineers, Account Executives, and Build, and you'll have a direct impact on how we win our most complex opportunities.What you'll be doingJoin strategic and technically complex opportunities in Europe early in the sales cycle, and support Solutions Engineers and Account Executives with solutioning, positioning, and technical credibility at executive and IT levelAnalyze and validate integration and customization requirements of prospects, from custom widgets and plugins to scripts, API integrations, SSO setups, and AI/agent use casesDesign the technical side of operational and frontline use cases, such as task management, HR self-service, shift planning or IT service requests, by connecting Staffbase to the systems employees work with every dayUnderstand the customer’s operational processes and workflows, advise on how Staffbase fits into them, and build the value case together with the Solutions Engineer and Account Executive: what improves, for whom, and how it is measuredTranslate customer requirements into a clear solution architecture and a realistic scope, including effort, risks, and dependencies, so we only commit to what we can deliverBuild proofs of concept and demo mock-ups, including through vibe-coding, that show prospects what their customized Staffbase experience will look likeWork with our APIs, webhooks, extension points, and AI capabilities (including MCP and A2A) to show what's possible on the platform and where its boundaries areAct as the link between the field and our Staffbase Build team (our Forward Deployed Engineers and developers): prepare clean handovers with documented requirements, architecture, and working prototypes, and give early feedback on feasibility and effortAdvise on the technical parts of RFPs and security or architecture questionnaires for complex dealsBuild and maintain reusable assets, reference architectures, and best practices for customizations that make the European Solutions Engineering team faster, and coach Solutions Engineers on deeper technical topicsBring field learnings to Product and Build in a structured way, especially on recurring gaps in APIs, webhooks, and the plugin/widget framework, and help prioritize the improvements that directly win dealsShare successful solution patterns with Solutions Engineering colleagues in other regions and pick up proven approaches from themIn your first months, own a share of opportunities yourself as a Solutions Engineer (around a third of your time) to build deep product knowledge and get to know our customers and the teamWhat you need to be successfulDegree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience5-8 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role such as solutions architecture, solutions engineering, forward deployed engineering, or technical consulting, ideally in a SaaS or enterprise software environmentProven track record of supporting complex, high-value enterprise deals, from requirements validation and architecture to scoping and handoverStrong developer background: you can build working prototypes in JavaScript/TypeScript (React or similar), Node.js, or comparable languages, and you know HTML/CSS wellDeep understanding of integration architecture: REST APIs, webhooks, authentication and identity concepts (OAuth, SAML, SSO, SCIM), and designing and debugging integrations in enterprise landscapesSolid knowledge of cloud technologies and SaaS architecture, including security and data protection requirements of large European enterprisesExperience with AI-assisted development and vibe-coding tools, and the judgment to know when a prototype is good enough to show and what it takes to make it production-readyAbility to turn vague customer asks into a concrete, scoped solution, and to explain trade-offs to developers, IT leaders, and business stakeholders alikeExperience in value consulting or process consulting: you understand operational processes and workflows and can build a business case that links a solution to measurable outcomesStrong executive presence and communication skills, with the confidence to lead technical conversations with CIOs, enterprise architects, and communications leadersFluent German and English (C1 or higher), with the ability to hold customer conversations in both languagesAdditional languages, especially French or Spanish, are a plusCollaborative, proactive mindset: you work well with sales and engineering teams, take pride in a clean handover, and are comfortable traveling within Europe when neededExperience with enterprise systems and integration landscapes is a plus: Microsoft 365, SharePoint, SAP, Workday, ServiceNow, Jira, Entra ID/Active Directory, etc.Experience with AI agent architectures (MCP, A2A) is a plusExperience with employee communications, intranet platforms, or low-code/no-code platforms is a plusWhat you'll get Competitive Compensation -
