AI Platform Engineer – Developer Platform (m/f/d)

Our Mission

We are building an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) to enable secure, scalable, and efficient software delivery — with security and compliance being top priorities from day one.
As an AI Platform Engineer in our Platform Team, you will play a key role in enabling AI-assisted software development across the entire software delivery lifecycle. Your focus will be on integrating AI capabilities into our Developer Platform to support product teams from customer requirements to value delivery.
You will help design and implement AI-powered platform services that enable developers to leverage AI in a secure, compliant, and scalable way. By embedding AI into developer workflows, CI/CD pipelines, QA and platform tooling, you will help accelerate development, improve developer experience, and unlock new productivity across the organization.
You will work closely with Platform Engineers, Product Teams, and developers to ensure that AI capabilities are accessible through self-service platform features, seamlessly integrated into existing development workflows, and aligned with our security and compliance standards.
Your work will help shape the foundation for AI-enabled software delivery across our platform, products and services.

What You'll Do

• Design and build AI capabilities within our Internal Developer Platform, enabling developers to safely and efficiently use AI throughout the software development lifecycle.
  This includes building reusable AI platform services, APIs, and integrations that provide secure and scalable access to AI models and assistants.
• Integrate AI capabilities into developer workflows and platform tooling to improve productivity and developer experience.

Examples include:

• • AI-assisted code generation and review
  • AI-supported documentation and knowledge retrieval
  • AI-based test generation and quality improvements
  • AI-assisted incident analysis and operational insights

• Design and implement reusable AI platform components such as:
  
  • LLM gateways and AI service APIs
  • Prompt and knowledge management
  • Model routing and integration layers
  • AI guardrails and usage governance

• Enable product teams to easily adopt AI capabilities by providing well-designed self-service tools, APIs, and platform abstractions.
  Your goal is to ensure that AI becomes a native part of the developer platform, integrated into:
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • developer tooling
  • platform services
  • engineering workflows

• Ensure that AI usage across the platform follows enterprise-grade security, compliance, and governance standards.

  • model usage policies and guardrails
  • protection of sensitive data
  • cost and usage transparency

• Implement monitoring and observability for AI services and integrations to ensure reliability, performance, and cost transparency.

What You Bring

• Several years of experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or DevOps, ideally with experience building internal platforms or developer tooling.
• Strong interest or practical experience in integrating AI/LLM capabilities into engineering workflows or developer platforms.
• Experience working with cloud platforms and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience building APIs, platform services, and automation for developer enablement.
• Familiarity with LLM-based technologies, such as:
  - AI assistants
  - embeddings
  - vector databases
  - Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)

• Experience integrating and operating AI services from LLM providers and in self-managed cloud/infrastructure.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and container-based platforms.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Experience to set up development environments in the public or private cloud infrastructure for enterprise AI development infra & governance such as Coder/GitLab
• Experience working with CI/CD systems such as GitLab CI.
• Programming skills in Python, Go, or similar languages.
• Strong interest in improving Developer Experience (DevEx) and enabling product teams through platform capabilities.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively across teams
