\n \nWe are looking for a Software (Technical) Support Engineer to join the team in Dresden, Germany in support of our PDC based inspection tools.
\n \nYour key responsibilities as a Software (Technical) Support Engineer:
\n- \n
- Software System Troubleshooting - analyze reported problems & validate solutions, provide troubleshooting plans to discover root cause to deliver rapid resolution on systemic issues (Microsoft Server / Network Topology / Applications) \n
- Software Installation & Imaging - Install & configure software & images on Early Learning Shipments (ELS) / New product Introductions (NPI) / First In Fab tools (FIF), document & perform first of kind installs on High Volume Manufacturing tools (HVM), develop & train on Software procedures \n
- Software Test & Validation - Collect & incorporate customer specific test scenarios, construct simulators for testing & troubleshooting, execute test plans to validate software releases (test suit) \n
- Create, test, and verify installation/upgrade instructions for Applied Materials’ product releases. \n
- Understand, research, and resolve internal and external application and systems issues, investigate in customer's high value problem (HVP), systematic bugs or systematic software failures. \n
- Customer Engagement & Training - Foster customer trust in Applied Materials Software, consult on Factory Automation scenarios (FA), resolve questions on tool operations & settings \n
- Provide on-going training to customers and customer engineers (CE) for technical products and systems issues. \n
- Assist in analysis of customer OS performance, integration, and database management issues. Deliver updates and reports to managers, partners, and peers. \n
Your education and experience
\n- \n
- A degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation or related \n
- 2-4 years of professional experience in software testing, test cases, documentation, and network technology is preferred \n
- Strong communication skills in English, with German being beneficial as well \n
- A team player with a willingness to work in multi-disciplinary teams \n
- Explains complex information to others in straightforward situations \n
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills \n
- Willing to do business trips to customer in Europe and to the headquarters in the US, up to 50% \n

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
