Construction Director (m/f/d) in Germany

We are seeking an experienced Construction Director to oversee the execution of a major industrial construction project in the Dresden area. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading site operations, driving project performance, and ensuring excellence in safety, quality, schedule, and cost management throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

• Lead all on-site construction activities for a large-scale EPC project from mobilization through completion.
  
• Take overall responsibility for construction performance, including HSE, quality, cost control, scheduling, and productivity.
  
• Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary construction teams, subcontractors, and key project stakeholders.
  
• Develop, implement, and continuously optimize the construction execution strategy and site delivery plan.
  
• Establish and monitor project KPIs to ensure achievement of project objectives and compliance with company standards and procedures.
  
• Chair construction and coordination meetings with contractors, suppliers, and project teams.
  
• Maintain strong client relationships and provide regular progress updates throughout the project lifecycle.
  
• Identify project risks proactively and implement mitigation measures to ensure successful project delivery.
  
• Report regularly to senior management on project performance, progress, and critical issues.
  
• Foster a strong culture of safety, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across the project organization.
  

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  
• Extensive experience leading construction execution on large, complex EPC or industrial projects.
  
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, site operations, scheduling, and project controls.
  
• Demonstrated success delivering major capital projects within demanding technical environments.
  
• Experience in one or more of the following sectors is highly valued:
  • Semiconductor manufacturing
    
  • Battery manufacturing
    
  • Data centers
    
  • Pharmaceutical or life sciences facilities
    
  • Oil & Gas
    
  • Nuclear
    
  • Other advanced industrial or process manufacturing projects
    
• Proven ability to lead large multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
  
• Fluent German and strong English communication skills.
  
• Willingness to travel and spend extended periods on project sites as required.
